IN OLD TOWN SPRING

WHAT:
The 15th Annual SpringFest Wine and Art Festival, one of the largest wine exhibition and tasting events in Houston, will take place in Historic Old Town Spring Saturday, March 23 through Sunday, March 24, 2013. Wine enthusiasts are invited to attend this Texas-style event featuring local wineries showcasing top Texas wines, original art work from Texas artists, Go Texas food vendors, and live entertainment and more! Representatives from each winery will be available to discuss their wines, and you may purchase bottles of your favorite wines. Several of the participating wineries are: Bernhardt Winery, Braman Winery, Cap Rock Winery, Dionisio Winery, Fall Creek Vineyards, Haak Vineyards, Landon Winery, Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards, McReynold Wines, Piney Woods Winery, Red 55 Winery and Wimberely Valley Wines.
Entertainment is provided by Joshua Messick and Paco and the Buds on Saturday and the Jazz Connection and Paco and the Buds on Sunday. The event is open to all ages and is a family-friendly event. Rain or Shine.
The event is FREE on Saturday & Sunday to view the original art and Go Texas vendors. Wine tasting tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Price includes a commemorative wine glass and 5 tastings with additional tastings available for 1 ticket. A glass of wine is available for 4 tickets. Each ticket cost $1. Proceeds will benefit the Spring Preservation League, a non-profit foundation which is dedicated to the preservation and beautification of Old Town Spring, community projects and maintains contributions to a variety of service organizations.
Drawings will be held Saturday and Sunday in the Kroger Hospitality tent. A drawing for a basket filled with merchandise from shops in Old Town Spring will be held Saturday, March 23rd at 3:00 pm. Trader Joe's donated a tote bag filled with their delicious goodies. The drawing for Trader Joe's tote is Sunday, March 24th at 3:00 pm.
The 15th Annual SpringFest Wine and Art Festival, presented by Kroger's as a hospitality sponsor, and Trader Joe's, Geico, Sysco, American Rent All as sponsors was created in 1998 in order to showcase local Texas wineries and artists and merchants in Old Town Spring. Old Town Spring is open throughout the year offering visitors access to more than 150 shops as well as great dining options, entertainment and hometown Texas-style fun.

CHARITIES:
The 40-foot long Be an Angel train returns during SpringFest and stops in Preservation Park. All proceeds from the train ride benefit Be an Angel.
